Car Narrowly Misses House, Truck Smashes Through Storefront

(Beaver Dam) A mechanical issue is being blamed after a truck drove through a storefront in Beaver Dam Saturday night. The truck entered the Cricket Wireless Store on the 1600 block of North Spring Street around 9:30pm. The driver’s side punched out the south wall of the business.

Meanwhile, Sunday afternoon around 2:30pm, a car narrowly missed a house on the 800 block of North Center Street. Witnesses say that the vehicle was backing out of a driveway across the street, crossed both lanes of traffic on the state highway and wound up in the front yard, coming to rest in bushes after narrowly missing the structure. Both lanes were temporarily closed as the vehicle was loaded onto a tow truck.

Two blocks away, in a separate incident Saturday afternoon, a motorist drove into a streetlight, knocking it to the ground near Washington Elementary School. No injuries were reported in any of the incidents.
