Busy Day for Firefighters

It was a busy day for local fire departments as three different blazes broke out across the county. The first destroyed a garage and a house belonging to Tiffany and Michael Wagner near Mayville. It started just before 1:30am in the 7700 block of Marsh. Officials say it appears it started in the garage and then spread to a neighboring home. There were six to eight fire departments on hand with Kekoskee as the lead agency. Mayville Fire Chief Roger Williams says Kekoskee did a great job limiting the spread of the fire to just that second home, which did sustain damage. Around 5:30pm a shed caught fire on Hochheim Road about four miles south of Theresa. That fire is under investigation. And then just before 6pm the Theresa Fire Department was called to another blaze, this one a field fire that started near the intersection of Zion Church Road and Plover Road. Officials say at the height of the fire around two acres were burning. No one was hurt in any of the fires
