Bus Chartered For Badger Honor Flight Return Saturday

9/13/17 – A bus will be taking people from Beaver Dam to Madison on Saturday evening to welcome home the veterans returning on Honor Flight. The nationwide program takes veterans to the nations capital at no cost to them to visit their memorials firsthand and give them the welcome home they may have never had. Half of the 88 veterans on board are from the Dodge County area. Jim Bublitz with the Dodge County Wing of the Madison-based non-profit Badger Honor Flight says the bus will leave the Beaver Dam Piggly Wiggly parking lot at the Park Village Shopping Center at 7:30pm. Reservations are required. The bus holds 55 individuals and the cost is $650. A $10 donation is being requested to cover the cost. The bus will drop riders off directly at the door of the terminal at the Dane County Airport. The plane is expected to land around 9:15pm. After an approximately hour long welcome home ceremony, the bus is expected to arrive back at Beaver Dam around 11:30pm. The general public is also encouraged to attend Saturday’s ceremony which typically attracts several thousand people. For reservations call Kelly McMillan at 920-382-2111.  For more information visit Badger Honor Flight’s website at www.badgerhonorflight.org.
