(Beaver Dam) Curbside bulk garbage pick-up in Beaver Dam begins Monday. Department of Public Works officials say bulk waste collection is scheduled for each resident’s garbage collection day the first full week in October. This year’s collection dates will be today through Friday. Bulk waste is defined as, but not limited to, furniture, wooden doors and windows and rolled carpet, not exceeding four feet-to-six feet in length. Per the state’s E-Cycle law, items that will not be collected include desktop and laptop computers, printers, fax machines, cell phones, DVD players and computer monitors. In addition, no metal items like bed springs, doors, windows, and pipes will be collected. No bundled or loose piles of building materials will be collected either. Building materials like lumber must be broken down and placed in the weekly collection cart. Items should be placed at the street edge no later than 7am on the day of collection and cannot be placed out sooner than 24 hours prior to the scheduled pick-up. No waste is accepted from non-city residents or from contractors. Bulk waste can also be disposed of at a drop-off site at the intersection of Myrtle Road and Beltline Drive on the first Wednesday of each month from 4pm to 7pm and on the third Saturday from 8am to noon.
