The Beaver Dam boys basketball team (Overall: 7-8, Badger North: 3-5) rallied from a five point halftime deficit to defeat Mosinee 80-73 in non-conference action on Monday Night at the BDHS Fieldhouse. The Golden Beavers trailed 42-37 at the break but used a 15-4 run over the first 5:38 of the 2nd half to take a 52-46 lead. Mosinee’s 9-2 spurt gave the defending Great Northern Conference champs a brief 56-55 edge. BD countered with a 7-0 run to build a 62-55 lead with 7:13 left. They would not trail the rest of the game. Senior Broden Boschert buried five points on his way to a team high 25 points. He also collected a team high 10 rebounds. Junior Nate Abel added 23 points while sophomore Ty Bunkoske scored all 11 of his points in the 2nd half. Sophomore Alex Soto also hit double digits with 10 points. As a team the Golden Beavers knocked down 12 three-pointers on the night. Mosinee’s Luke Spink led all scorers with 28 points. The Golden Beavers will ride a five-game win streak into Thursday night’s Badger North Conference showdown with Waunakee at the BDHS Fieldhouse.
