Bond Set At $1-Million For Fond Du Lac Man Charged With Attempted Homicide

(Fond du Lac) Cash bond has been set at $1-million-dollars for a Fond du Lac man who is charged with trying to kill his girlfriend. Lener Landero-Suarez is facing a felony count of Attempted First-Degree Intentional Homicide and Substantial Battery.

The charges stem from an incident on December 20th at the couple’s home. According to the criminal complaint, the victim was choked and hit. She reportedly told investigators that Landero-Suarez gets very jealous and had told her he was going to kill her. She allegedly said he probably would have if his sister had not intervened.

As she was on the edge of consciousness the victim reportedly overheard Landero-Suarez tell his sister that he killed her and that he had to leave. The 29-year-old left the house that night but turned himself in to Fond du Lac police on December 28th.

A preliminary hearing is scheduled for January 12th.
