(Fond du Lac) Charges were filed Thursday against a Fond du Lac man accused of stabbing another person. Vickendrika Jones had cash bond set at $1-million-dollars. He is facing a felony charge of Attempted First-Degree Intentional Homicide Use of a Dangerous Weapon.
Officers were called to the SSM Health Emergency Department in August for a person being treated for severe knife wounds. The 40-year-old victim and Jones allegedly got into an altercation outside of the Press Box Tavern in Fond du Lac. Jones turned himself in and reportedly denied knowing the victim.
According to the complaint, the 31-year-old told investigators that he did not have a knife with him that night and that he did not (quote) “scuffle” with the victim. Surgeons at the hospital said without surgery the victim would have died, likely due to sepsis or peritonitis.
If convicted, Jones faces up to 60 years in prison. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for October 14th.
