Bond Lowered For Juneau Man Accused Of Having Inappropriate Contact With Minor

(Juneau) A Juneau man accused of having inappropriate contact with a minor had his bond reduced Tuesday. Nehemiah Reiss is facing numerous felonies including Repeated Sexual Assault of the Same Child, Second-Degree Sexual Assault of a Child, Attempted Second Degree Sexual Assault of a Child, and Child Enticement.

During Reiss’ initial appearance in court in May, cash bond was set at $50,000. During a motion hearing yesterday, Reiss’ attorney’s requested his bond be reduced to $5,000. Judge Kristine Snow instead lowered bail to $15,000. According to court records, if Reiss is able to post the cash bond, he would be responsible for the fees associated with the GPS monitoring through the Dodge County Sheriff’s Office to keep track of his whereabouts.

The victim was questioned by Dodge County sheriff’s deputies in November. She reportedly said that the assaults happened while staying at Reiss’ home in Juneau over last summer and fall. If convicted, the 30-year-old faces up to 185 years in prison.
