(Horicon) A boil water notice in the City of Horicon has been lifted. Utility Director Dave Magnussen (MAG-nuss-in) says two rounds of water sampling this week have indicated no bacteria in the water system. He says it is safe to drink the water. The utility will continue to monitor the system with increased sampling in coming weeks. Samples taken on August 24 and 26 had indicated the presence of a bacteria in the water system. Magnussen says the samples did NOT test positive for Fecal Coliform (fee-kull coal-uh-form) but an “indicator organism” had been found that led to the testing.
