Body Found Near Mayville Identified As John Bachhuber

(Mayville) The Dodge County Medical Examiner’s Office has positively identified the body found Monday evening near Mayville as that of John J. Bachhuber. Dodge County Sheriff Dale Schmidt said that his office had launched a death investigation following the discovery of a body near N7548 State Highway 67 in the village of Kekoskee. The body was turned over to the Dodge County Medical Examiner’s Office who conducted an autopsy to ensure positive identification. Medical Examiner PJ Schoebel says Bachhuber’s cause of death was hypothermia due to environmental cold exposure. The 77-year-old Bachhuber had been missing from the Mayville area since February 17, triggering a Silver Alert.
