Big 1st Inning Leads Waupun To Win

The Waupun summer league baseball team scored five runs in the top of the first inning with just two hits and never looked back in a 6-2 win at Ripon on Wednesday night.   Waupun only other run came in the top of the 7th.

Jarrett Buchholz walked three times and scored a pair of runs to pace the Waupun offense.  Waupun’s offense only managed four singles on the day as Cole Hicken, Austin Wiese, Noah Gerrtison and Keegan Hartgerink all collected one hit each.

Brayden Sanders threw six solid innings, giving up just 2 runs on 6 hits to earn the victory. He tallied 11 strikeouts and just one walk.  Carson Bresser struck out the side in the bottom of the 7th to finish off the game for Waupun.

The win improves Waupun to 5-2 on the season.  They will travel to Beaver Dam for a 6pm 1st pitch on Thursday night.
