(Beaver Dam) South Beaver Dam Elementary School is going to be sold by sealed bid. The school board this week discussed the future of the soon-to-be-closed building. The board approved a five-year facility plan in July that includes the closure of South Beaver Dam Elementary and its consolidation with Jefferson next school year. The bidding process will utilize a set minimum acceptable bid. The district is partnering with a real estate attorney to execute the plan. South Beaver Dam will be sold as-is and will not include existing fixtures, furnishings or equipment. Three separate parties have already expressed interest in the property. The tentative timeline calls for the board approving the minimum bid amount in March with bids due by the end of May and the winning bid accepted on or around June 8. Around $2.25-million dollars will be needed to accommodate the new students from South Beaver Dam at Jefferson Elementary next year.
