Betty A. Michael, age 81 of Beaver Dam, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 26, 2024 at the Remembrance Home in Beaver Dam.
Betty was born on April 15, 1943 in Fox Lake, the daughter of Casmir W. and Maryanne L. (Bell) Klapper Sr. She attended St. Patrick’s Catholic School and graduated from Beaver Dam High School in 1961. On May 24, 1969, she was united in marriage to Gerald “Jerry” C. Michael at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Waupun. Betty was blessed with a servant heart and a gift to make everyone around her feel welcomed and loved, which was especially evident throughout her years working at various retail stores in Beaver Dam and faithfully volunteering at Beaver Dam Community Hospital. She was a devoted member of St. Katharine Drexel Parish and above all else, she cherished spending time with her grandchildren.
Betty is survived by her sons, Chad (Megan) of Myrtle Beach, SC and Todd (Jessica) of Beaver Dam; grandchildren, Calvin, Xander, Adaline and Harper; brothers, John (Judy), Terry (Roxann Nell) and William Klapper; sister, Mary Miller; sister-in-law, Betty Michael; and further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband of 52 years, Jerry; siblings, Eva Zanto, Carole (Bud) Schepp, Casmir W. Klapper Jr, and Larry Lee Klapper in infancy; brothers-in-law, Dennis, Earl, and Elliot (Lynne) Michael; sisters-in-law, Jane (Roman) Zangl, Irene (Ray) Seibel and Marcy Klapper; and other relatives.
Visitation for Betty will be held on Tuesday, July 9, 2024 at St. Katharine Drexel Parish, 511 S. Spring St., Beaver Dam from 9:30 a.m. until the time of her Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. with Fr. Nick Dhein as Celebrant. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery, Beaver Dam.
If desired, memorials in Betty’s name may be directed to St. Katharine Drexel Parish.
A heartfelt thank you is extended to the caring staff of the Remembrance Home who welcomed Betty with open arms and loved her like one of their own, as well as to her faithful friends who were there for her throughout her life.
