Beaver Dam High School Projecting High Graduation Rate

(Beaver Dam) The Beaver Dam School District is looking at a graduation rate in excess of 95-percent for the current school year. The school board reviewed numbers Monday night that indicate that the number of students graduating in four years will (quote) “easily” surpass their current projection of 95.6-percent. Two years ago, Beaver Dam had an 84-percent graduation rate and last year that number increased to nearly 89-percent.

Meanwhile, enrollment in the Beaver Dam school district for the current year is at 3,465 students, a decrease of 43 students from last year. The numbers reviewed last night indicate that the attendance rate is at 94.7-percent, up two-tenths from last year. After a four-percent decline last year, chronic absenteeism is up two percent this year to 13-percent.
