Beaver Dam’s New Mayor Sworn In

(Beaver Dam) Beaver Dam has a new mayor. Bobbi Marck was sworn-in to the role during the common council’s Monday night meeting. Marck, who was the former District 2 Alderperson, defeated District 7 Alderperson and current common council president Jack Yuds in the November Election.

City Administrator Nathan Thiel says they have opened up applications for those interested in filling Marck’s District 2 seat.

“If you know someone or want to recommend, please have them talk with Tracey [Ferron] in the clerk’s office…the intent is December 16th…we’ll close that advertisement a week prior…and hopefully the 16th we’ll have a candidate to present to the council.”

Marck succeeds Mike Wissel who was appointed to fill former mayor Becky Glewen’s vacated seat in February.

“Well, it’s been my pleasure to serve you all as the mayor of Beaver Dam even through it’s been a short spell,” says Wissell. “This has been an interesting nine-and-a-half months, and I want to thank those who have made the mayor’s role a smooth transition that includes all of you alderpersons…the department heads…fire and police chiefs…the clerk…event the attorneys…the PFC…the Development Corp…the library boards…and finally the city administrator.”

Wissell had been serving as the council president and was the District 13 Alderperson when he was tabbed to replace Glewen as mayor.
