Beaver Dam’s Davis Will Play For Wisconsin HP-18 In National Tournament

After a solid 2019-20 hockey season and a spectacular run in the playoffs, Beaver Dam High School junior goalie Kirk Davis has been chosen to play for Wisconsin HP-18 in the CCM National High School Invitational Tournament April 30th to May 3rd in Plymouth, Minnesota.

During Beaver Dam’s final three playoff games, Davis turned back 157 of 163 (96.3%) shots he faced, including stopping 63 of 65 shots against #1 ranked Notre Dame Academy in the 2-0 Sectional Final loss.

In a statement to DailyDodge.com, Beaver Dam boys hockey coach Jose Matamoros says “This is a great honor for Kirk as he has had a phenomenal season! He had a great regular season and an even better playoff run and was rock solid between the pipes for us to aide us in our deep playoff run. He joins the team with fellow goaltender, Kaden Grant, who is in the state tournament currently with his Verona squad. To be in the mix of names like that is truly awesome! It shows the talent we have here in Beaver Dam, and that we are putting the community back on the map for talented hockey programs in the state. We are very proud and excited as a coaching staff here at BD for Kirk and look forward to his success with his fellow Wisconsin teammates at this tournament.”

The team is a comprised of the top high school juniors in Wisconsin who play hockey in the WIAA.
