Beaver Dam Youth Hockey Update: 12-6-20

-The Beaver Dam Squirts had their home tournament this weekend. It was filled with some very high-end competition. The team as a whole played very well. Xavier Wagner Vargas lead the team in scoring while Ty Scott, Isaiah Olds, and Blake Errthum played extremely hard on the defensive end against some fast teams.

-Wildfire 12U played in a tournament in Appleton this weekend. After playing two hard fought games and coming up short they got their first win of the tournament on a game winning goal shot by Maggie Laatsch. Addison Hoekstra helped with a goal from the blue line (64 feet) while Addison Mylrea contributed on the defensive end as well playing tough in all three games. Taking goal for the girls this weekend was Kamryn Albert who put in a solid effort with some huge saves for the team late in the game. Over all it was a great team effort.

 

-Wildfire 14U played a tough Madison Mavericks A team and ended in a 2-2 tie in a friendly game. Wildfire was playing shorthanded with Zander Statz and Connor Othmer from the Pee-Wees filling in. Emily Smedma was peppered with 40 shots on goal with a save percentage of 95. Audrey Lont had a strong defensive game playing long shifts rotating with Meredith Modine and Maggie Dogs. Connor Othmer scored on a power play in the 1st and Lauren Ruis scored in the 3rd. Addy Damon, Ali Stanul, and Nevaeha Smolen worked hard on offense.

 

-After two tough losses, the Bantam B Beaver Dam-Sun Prairie co-op team finished out their tournament with a 8-0 win against Shaw. Beaver Dam player Tristan Young had 3 goals and 2 assists.  Sun Prairie player Henry Hankes also scored 3 goals.

 

-The newly co-oped Pee Wee team finished the weekend with a win, a tie, and a loss. It was a great team effort this weekend with the newly merged team.

 

-Both Mites teams took on Fond du lac this weekend.

 

-U12 girls fought hard at their tournament in Appleton with 1 win and 2 losses.
