Beaver Dam Woman Takes Home Several Awards During Horse Competition

(Beaver Dam) A Beaver Dam woman took home multiple awards in the heart of horse country. Hailey Kenevan competed in the Retired Racehorse Project’s “$100,000 Thoroughbred Makeover” and the “Jockey Club Thoroughbred Incentive Program Championships” in Kentucky last month.

Kenevan and her horse Lil B Quick, a 2015 thoroughbred mare, won first class in the Thoroughbred Incentive Program Championships Competitive Trail, a competition meant to demonstrate a horse’s ability to maneuver through obstacles with physical skill, expression, and a good mental attitude. Other awards the duo took home include “Best Conditioned Award” and the Stall Decorating Contest.

The Thoroughbred Incentive Program Championships and the Retired Racehorse Project’s event featured more than 500 horses combined, competing from nearly every U.S. state and multiple Canadian provinces. The competitions are intended to inspire good trainers to become involved in transitioning these horses to secondary careers.
