Beaver Dam Woman Gets Probation For Embezzling Money From Gas Station

(Beaver Dam) A Beaver Dam woman who embezzled money from Coyote Gas and Liquor was placed on probation for five years Friday. Jennifer Singsheim entered a no contest plea to a felony count of Theft in a Businesses Setting for taking $23-thousand from the Beaver dam gas station. The 44-year-old told investigators that she developed an addiction to scratch-off lottery tickets after winning $500 several years ago. Over the period of a year, she had been taking the scratch-offs and trying to pay the shortfall with the winnings. Eventually, she resorted to balancing the books with money from her paycheck and then from loans. When those options ran out, Singsheim – who was manager of Coyote – stopped making nightly bank deposits. She admitted her actions to management when it was discovered that she failed to make a weekend deposit and cooperated with the investigation, paying back $5000 before formal charges were filed.
