Beaver Dam Woman Facing Hit And Run Causing Injury Charges

(Beaver Dam) A Beaver Dam woman has been charged with leaving the scene after striking another vehicle with her car. Rebecca Chadwick is facing a felony count of Hit and Run Causing Injury. In May, a northbound vehicle on North Lincoln Avenue was hit by a car traveling eastbound on Maple Avenue. The driver told to police that the eastbound car did not stop for the stop sign and continued to drive away from the scene afterwards. The impact left a large amount of debris in the roadway. While authorities were searching the area, a caller reported to dispatch that they spotted a vehicle with a lot of damage that sounded terrible and would not be able to travel much further. Police located the vehicle which was reportedly driven by Chadwick and initiated a traffic stop. She allegedly admitted to her actions and said she did not stop because she was scared. The driver of the vehicle that was hit did have rib injuries as a result of the crash. If convicted, the 51-year-old faces no more than nine months in prison. An initial appearance is scheduled for October 19th.
