12/15/17 – A Beaver Dam woman accused of illegally casting a ballot last November will head to trial. Breana Brock waived her right to a preliminary hearing on charges of felony Election Fraud – Voting By a Disqualified Person. Prosecutors say the 19-year-old was convicted of felony Possession of Narcotic Drugs in July of last year, losing her ability to vote until her civil rights are restored with the successful completion of probation which would have been July of this year. Brock told investigators that she did not realize until after the election that she could not vote as a convicted felon. She said she never actually went to court and did not understand the Plea Questionnaire/ Waiver of Rights document her attorney gave her to sign. If convicted, the charge carries a maximum sentence of three-and-a-half years in prison. An arraignment hearing is scheduled for January 24.
