Beaver Dam Woman Accused Of Striking Child With Vehicle During Hit And Run

(Beaver Dam) A Beaver Dam woman was charged Tuesday with the leaving the scene after striking a child with her vehicle. Rebecca Davison is facing a felony count of Hit and Run Involving Injury. The incident happened in the area of 704 South Spring Street last October. The child, who was ten-years-old at the time, suffered a golf ball size abrasion to his left knee and complained of swollen toes. Witnesses reported that the vehicle bumped into the child as he was crossing the street and then left. Authorities later located the vehicle as well as Davison who reportedly admitted she was involved. She allegedly told police that she noticed a few kids entering the street not at a crossing area. According to the criminal complaint, Davison said she came to a complete stop and noticed the child walked into the rear passenger side of her SUV. Adding that she did not strike him. Davison reportedly said she stopped for a short period of time but noticed the child seemed fine and walked away towards the sidewalk so she drove away. If convicted, the 44-year-old Davison face no more than nine-months in prison. An initial appearance is scheduled for July 6th.
