Beaver Dam Softball Falls In State Quarterfinals

The Beaver Dam High School softball team saw their postseason run come to an end at the WIAA Division One State Quarterfinals on Monday morning, falling to Sun Prairie 8-0 at Bay Port High School.

Cardinals freshman pitcher Taylor Baker struck out 9 and gave up just two hits to pick up the complete game shutout win.   Those two hits were singles by Carlee Lapen in the 5th and Ginny Bryant in the 6th.

Sun Prairie touched BD pitching for three runs in both the 2ND and 3rd innings and two more in the 6th.  The Cardinals hammered out 13 hits and also used three Beaver Dam errors to build their lead.

Audriana Edwards gave up, four hits and three runs (just one earned) in two innings of action to take the loss.  Gabby Fakes was touched for five earned runs and nine hits in 4 innings of work.

Beaver Dam’s season ends at 19-4.  This was the Golden Beavers 1st trip to the state softball tournament since 2004.
