(Beaver Dam) A Beaver Dam group seeking to develop new soccer fields is asking the public to give their input on a fundraising survey. Beaver Dam United Soccer Club is researching the financial feasibility of privately funding the development of a new public soccer complex. Club President Aysha Dominguez says they have hired MSA Professionals to conduct the study and review the findings. She says their goal is to see if the community can raise the necessary funds to complete the project.
The estimated $2.3-million complex would be located on Distribution Way in Beaver Dam. As proposed, the facility would include parking, a concession stand, bathrooms, multiple fields with lighting, bleachers, a small playground and a multi-use trail. Dominguez says their current facilities at Commercial Drive are up for sale and if someone purchases it they would lose the fields Beaver Dam officials are also reviewing soccer fields as part of their overall comprehensive park and recreation planning. Dominquez says they would need city approval before breaking ground because the land they are currently looking at developing is owned by the city.
Dominguez says the survey will be live through the end of the month. The survey can be found here: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/M5NGR5K
