(Beaver Dam) The Beaver Dam School Board adopted a preliminary budget for the 2019-2020 school year this week. While there are still several unknown variables – like state aid and enrollment numbers – the preliminary document allows the district to move forward on a spending plan for the upcoming year and secure needed cash flow. The $48-million dollar budget includes an anticipated tax levy of $15.5-million dollars, a slight increase over last year. The proposed mill rate would be $9.29 cents per $1000 of assessed value, a decrease of 10-cents from the last school year. The final budget is slated for a public hearing and adoption in October.
