3/18/17 – The Beaver Dam School District will be receiving a grant aimed at students interested in competing at robotics events. Beaver Dam will get $2,670 of the $250,000 shared grant that will go to 125 public, charter, and private schools as well as homeschool students. This will be awarded to grades nine through 12 that work with a mentor to help design, build, and program robots. The funds will cover fees, required kits, supplies, travel expenses, and a stipend for the team’s mentor. The grant support is to encourage more students to be interested in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. The grant period runs through June 30.
