Beaver Dam Police Notify Community of Sex Offender’s Placement

(BEAVER DAM) Families in Beaver Dam are being notified that a convicted sex offender is scheduled to return to the community Tuesday, according to police.

Robert Contreras is set to be paroled Dec. 30 after serving his sentence for two counts of third-degree sexual assault, Beaver Dam police said in a community notification bulletin released this week. The department emphasized that Contreras has completed his court-ordered sentence and is not wanted by police.

Authorities say Contreras’ past convictions involved female victims age 15 and younger. As part of his parole, he will be under intensive supervision and must follow strict conditions, including no contact with his victims, no unsupervised contact with minors, and compliance with electronic monitoring.

Police said Contreras plans to live at 109 Elm St. in Beaver Dam. He will be registered with the Wisconsin Sex Offender Registry and required to complete face-to-face registration with both the Dodge County Sheriff’s Office and the Beaver Dam Police Department.

The department said the notification is intended to inform the public, not to create fear, and warned that harassment or intimidation of registered sex offenders will not be tolerated. Anyone who observes a possible violation of parole conditions is asked to contact the Beaver Dam Police Department.

Additional information about registered sex offenders in Wisconsin is available through the state registry.
