Beaver Dam Police K9 Unit Gets Dog Vests Donation

11/26/17 – The Beaver Dam Police Department was recently given a donation to help protect its K-9 Unit. Wisconsin Vest-A-Dog recently donated two First Aid Dog Kits worth approximately $1000 for K-9’s Yeti and Blade. The non-profit Vest-A-Dog was started in 2005 by the Wisconsin Veterinary Association to provide bullet proof and stab proof vests for every police dog in the state. Over a dozen dogs are killed each year nationwide while on the job apprehending criminal suspects. Wisconsin has over 200 canine officers.
