Beaver Dam Police Encourage Donations To Fund For Murder Victim’s Child

(Beaver Dam) The Beaver Dam Police Department is asking the public to donate to a fund established to help the child whose mother was murdered in the city. The Beaver Dam Police Charities has an account at American Bank’s three branches in Beaver Dam to collect funds specifically for the child caught in the middle of the tragic situation. Sergeant Jeremy Johnson says their non-profit charitable group wanted to do something to help. He told us recently on WBEV’s Community Comment that all monies raised are under the control of the Beaver Dam Police Department Charities. Once the fundraising is finished, he says the organization will make sure the funds are dispersed in a responsible way. Johnson says while a method of distributing the money has not yet been established, its goal is to provide support to a child in need when it is needed most. He says there is a silver lining; it appears that the girl will be adopted by a close family member. Donations can be made online anytime or in person during regular business hours.
