Beaver Dam Police Charities To Announce Fundraiser For Those Affected By Tornadoes

(Beaver Dam) The Beaver Dam Police Charities, Inc. will soon announce a fundraising effort for the people affected by the devastating tornadoes down south. A part-time on call member of the Beaver Dam Fire Department and military veteran, Matt Bartol, has been in communication with one of his former platoon sergeants who lives in the Bowling Green area of Kentucky. That area was heavily impacted by the storms. Officials with the Police Charities say Bartol was influenced by the sergeant as a young marine and wants to pay it forward today. They say they have agreed to help with that effort. The goal is to raise money and items and drive a truck down to Kentucky during the week after Christmas. More information should be available in the coming days. At least 100 people are feared dead and many more are injured or missing after tornadoes hit eight different states over the weekend.
