(Beaver Dam) The Beaver Dam Pickleball Court fundraiser is close to reaching their top goals for donations. Naming rights and general donations are still available for participation. Fund raising started for the courts last year, because the current setup is said to have “aged” and contain safety concerns. The hope is that the building process will be completed this summer.
The city of Beaver Dam is providing guidance for the operation, as they have done with many local projects in the past. Donations are being managed by the Beaver Dam Area Community Foundation. The goal for the fundraising was set at four to five hundred thousand dollars. They are currently over the minimum goal of $400,000. Abbi Linde joined us on a recent Community Comment thanking the donors.
“We’ve just been so blown away by the community support.” She said. “Theres just been so much generosity, and a lot of momentum. And a lot of excitement from individuals, and businesses, and grants.”
The naming donor is Rich Nattila, in memory of Janice Nattila and the Kastenmeier family. The official name for the pickleball area is the “JM Kastenmeier Courts”. Theres still plenty of room for more donations. Currently six of the nine courts are still available for naming rights. Donors receive a special mention on the Beaver Dam Pickleball Facebook page and are also engraved on a donor board on the court area.
There are several ways to reach out for donations and questions. Those interested can email BeaverDamPickleball@Gmail.com. A donation form is also available on Facebook, or it can be picked up at the Watermark located at 209 South Center Street in Beaver Dam. You can also reach out to Steve Ihm, who has volunteered himself for questions at 920-306-2668.
