(Beaver Dam) A fundraiser is planned this weekend for a local non-profit that helps those who find themselves without a place to call home. MUTED 2019 is a music festival that will benefit the New Beginnings Homeless Shelter, which operates two housing units – one for men located near the former Saint Michaels and another for women located near First Lutheran Church. During a recent appearance on WBEV’s Community Comment, Event Organizer Cassandra Schmidt said there will be plenty of music acts during the event. Members of the Beaver Dam High School band will also perform from 11am to 12pm. Following at 12:30pm will be Fire on High, at 3pm Reel to Real will be playing and closing out the night will be Crystal Waters Band at 7:30pm. There will be a dunk tank, games for kids, food, and sporting competitions at the fundraiser. Nancy Welch, a founding member of the event says they will also be raffling off several different items including an autographed Packers football and Bucks basketball as well as tickets to the Brewers and Madison Mallards. Muted 2019 will run from 11am to 9pm Saturday at Swan City Park in Beaver Dam. The event is free but attendees are asked to bring non-perishable food items.
