3/8/17 – The Beaver Dam Fire Chief has entered into a friendly wager with the fire chief in Monroe for Friday’s girls high school basketball state championship in Green Bay. Fire Chief Alan Mannel placed the bet with his old colleague, Monroe Fire Chief Dan Smits. If Monroe wins, Mannel will have to serve pancakes to their team during an annual fundraising breakfast. Mannel says “when Beaver Dam wins” Chief Smits will have to serve the Golden Beavers pizza while wearing one of their jersey’s.
