(Beaver Dam) Beaver Dam School District officials have announced several changes planned this year for the middle school. Adjustments have been made to the building to cluster student classrooms by grade. The exception is for certain elective glasses, but each grade will have a dedicated floor.
Sixth grade classrooms will be on the third floor, seventh grade on the first floor, and eighth grade on the second floor. Officials say this change will allow their staff to create smaller environments and true learning communities for students with common academic and behavioral expectations. Lockers will also be on the same floor as grade-level classrooms to provide seamless transition from one class to the next.
The middle school will also be holding their open house after the school year starts on September 12th from 6pm to 7:30pm. Officials say this will allow for more meaningful conversations between faculty and parents.
The middle school will also be offering a Parent Workshop Series with the first being held on September 19th at 6pm. The focus will be on information to better understand your child’s academic progress.
The first day of school is August 29th.
