(Beaver Dam) Beaver Dam Mayor Becky Glewen says she is proud to see the community support a local event. Beaver Dam Lake Days was in jeopardy of ending after several veteran organizers stepped away. After longtime planner Doug Sacket asked residents to step forward and support the mid-July festival, the Lake Days Committee nearly quadrupled in size from five members to 20. During a recent appearance on WBEV’s Community Comment, Glewen said Lake Days will benefit from the infusion of new leadership. She says the events new president, Beaver Dam-native Brad Ingram, and new committee member, Jason Loppnow, are among those looking into new possibilities for Lake Days. The weekend event held in July features a carnival midway, food, beverages and live music from local and national touring acts. This year’s Lake Days will mark its 25th year.
