Beaver Dam Mayor Declares Best Dam Fest a Success

(Beaver Dam) The Beaver Dam mayor is praising the success of a rebranded Beaver Dam festival. Best Dam Fest was held last weekend. The summer carnival was originally called Beaver Dam Lake Days and was cancelled last year due to the pandemic. Organizers and city leaders took that opportunity to re-energize the event, incorporating more of the downtown and surrounding parks. Activities included ticketed amusement rides, a scavenger hunt, crafting demonstrations, food trucks, a fishing tournament, a performance by the Must-Skis, and a fireworks display.

Mayor Becky Glewen says the new direction of the festival was a success with residents. She says she heard many positive comments all night from attendees and businesses.

Glewen says Best Dam Fest promoting the downtown was great to see. She says more communities are looking at their central location and how to build off of that. Glewen notes one way to do so is by promoting community involvement.

Four committee members from Beaver Dam Lake Days moved on to help plan this year’s event. Glewen says their efforts did not go unnoticed. Organizers with Best Dam Fest say they are already hard at work to make next year’s festival just as memorable.
