Beaver Dam Man Sentenced To Prison For Shooting Another Person In The Foot

(Beaver Dam) A Beaver Dam man who shot another person in the foot was sentenced to four years in prison Wednesday. Lynell Lacy entered a guilty plea to felony counts of Second-Degree Recklessly Endangering Safety and Aggravated Battery. An additional felony charge of Attempted Armed Robbery and misdemeanor Intentionally Point a Firearm at a Person were dismissed but read into the record.

Beaver Dam police were dispatched to the Lakecrest Apartments in February around 8pm for a report of shots fired. Moments later, 911 received a call from someone saying they were shot in the foot and were heading to the hospital. Information authorities received from the caller lead them to identify Lacy as the shooter, a resident in the same apartment building.

The victim told law enforcement that Lacy was upset with him over a perceived encounter with his girlfriend. Lacy approached the victim, held the gun to his head, demanded any money he had, shot him in the foot, then drove away. Lacy was located on Kellom Road and was taken into custody.

The 28-year-old was also placed on extended supervision for four years.
