Beaver Dam Man Sentenced For Eighth OWI

3/15/12 – A Beaver Dam man will spend four years in prison for his eighth Operating While Intoxicated offense. William Reese had a jury trial scheduled Tuesday but entered into an agreement with prosecutors shortly after jury selection and pled to the felony OWI charge. A second felony was dismissed and four misdemeanors were dismissed but read into the record. The 45-year-old was arrested in June of 2009 by Beaver Dam Police after a woman reported seeing his vehicle swerve near the intersection of Spring and DeClark Streets. He refused a breathalyzer test at the scene but his blood alcohol level was later determined to be over three times the legal limit for driving at point-two-six-four (.264). In addition to four years in prison, Reese must spend four years on extended supervision while maintaining absolute sobriety and three years without a drivers license followed by three years with an ignition interlock device on his vehicle.
