Beaver Dam Man Makes Initial Appearance On Battery To A Nurse Charge

(Beaver Dam) A Beaver Dam man has made his initial appearance in court on charges he assaulted and made suggestive comments towards hospital staff. Bradley Toft is facing a felony count of Battery to a Nurse, Battery to an Emergency Rescue Worker as well as a misdemeanor charge of Lewd Behavior.

Police were dispatched to Marshfield Medical Center – Beaver Dam around 1:30am Tuesday (January 4th) for a report of an unruly patient. Upon arrival, Toft was calm and speaking with officers but he reportedly became agitated at random. According to the criminal complaint, a staff member told police that a relative brought Toft in after he consumed THC edibles and was acting unusual. While at the facility, Toft allegedly made inappropriate comments and gestures towards employees. He also reportedly grabbed a razor and attempted to place it close to a nurse’s neck before she backed away. Toft also allegedly struck a security guard.

If convicted, 43-year-old faces over 12 years behind bars. A signature bond was set at $1,000 and a preliminary hearing is scheduled for February 10th.
