Beaver Dam Man Given Six Months In Jail For Making Threats Against Police

(Beaver Dam) A Beaver Dam man was sentenced to six months in jail with work release privileges Monday for making threats against police. In April, Samuel Stephenson entered a no contest plea to a felony count of Threats to a Law Enforcement Officer. In the early morning hours of January 14, Beaver Dam police were dispatched to Lincoln Avenue following reports of a fight that had broken out in the courtyard of an apartment complex. Stephenson was identified as the instigator and began to flee on foot when officers spotted him nearby. Stephenson was holding a five foot long two-by-four and refused to stop for police. After a brief chase, an officer deployed his Taser gun and Stephenson was taken into custody. While being booked at the Dodge County Jail Stephenson made verbal threats towards staff and officers as well as one of the city’s K-9’s. The 21-year-old was also placed on probation for four years.
