Beaver Dam Man Given Prison Time On Child Porn Charge

(Beaver Dam) A Beaver Dam man was sentenced to three years in prison for possessing illicit images of children. Jose Esquivel entered a no contest plea to three felony counts of Child Pornography. Two additional charges were dismissed but read in.

Dodge County sheriff’s detectives began investigating a cyber tip from Microsoft that a user had illegal content stored amongst their files in November of 2022. The account was connected to an address in Beaver Dam were Esquivel lived, according to the complaint.

Law enforcement executed a search warrant at the address. During the search, detectives located a computer with an open web browser displaying child porn. Esquivel admitted that only he used that computer. He said he does not search for the images but if something (quote) “pops up” he will watch it.

The 81-year-old was also placed on extended supervision for three years.
