Beaver Dam Man Given Jail Time For Failing To Return To Jail From Work

(Herman) A Beaver Dam man was sentenced this week to one year in jail with work release privileges for failing to return to the Dodge County jail from work. Maliek Sherman entered a no contest plea to a felony count of Escape. Jail staff were made aware in February that Sherman had not returned to the facility after leaving for work and a pre-approved medical appointment. Correctional officers called the Beaver Dam hospital as well as close contacts and could not reach Sherman. The 22-year-old was taken into custody just before 2am the next day after a sheriff’s deputy pulled a vehicle over that he was driving which had no license plates.
