Beaver Dam Man Found Guilty Of Burglarizing Herman Residence

(Herman) A Beaver Dam man was found guilty Monday of burglarizing a residence in the town of Herman. Doty Broadnax entered a no contest plea to a felony charge of Burglary as a Repeat Offender. Last September, a relative of the property owner visited the residence on Highway 33 and reported seeing a male attempting to load a snowblower into a black pickup truck. The truck speed off and was later pulled over by authorities in Washington County. Broadnax was arrested along with a second individual who was a passenger in the vehicle. When questioned, the 56-year-old denied he was at the property to burglarize it but admitted he was there to check out a car. According to the criminal complaint, numerous power tools and equipment from the property were confiscated from the pickup truck. A pre-sentencing investigation was ordered and Broadnax is due back in court on October 23rd.
