(Beaver Dam) A Beaver Dam man was charged Thursday with burglarizing the Beaver Dam Public Transit building. Charles Daniel is facing a felony count of Burglary as well as two misdemeanor charges of Theft and Criminal Damage to Property. On August 5th, a Beaver Dam police officer was dispatched to the business on 207 South Center Street. A worker reported that a window had been broken out and a door was shattered. According to the criminal complaint, roughly $1,500 was taken. Staff reportedly told police that Daniel was one of the last people in the structure before the burglary. Recovered video surveillance allegedly observed Daniel unplugging the camera. When questioned, Daniel at first denied the accusations but later reportedly admitted to his actions. He allegedly said he needed the money. If convicted, the 49-year-old faces no more than 14 years in prison. An initial appearance is scheduled for November 25.
