(Beaver Dam) A Beaver Dam man is accused of headbutting two officers while being arrested for Operating While Intoxicated. Jessie Garcia is charged with two counts of felony Battery To Law Enforcement, one count of felony Resisting an Officer causing Substantial Bodily Harm and misdemeanor Operating While Revoked. The incident occurred Saturday after Beaver Dam Police conducted a traffic stop as the 26-year-old entered the city. ย Officers had received information about an intoxicated driver coming from Watertown that had been traveling at a high rate of speed, blowing through stop signs. During the traffic stop Garcia was allegedly uncooperative, attempting to put the car in reverse and apparently reaching for knife. Officers had to break a window to forcibly remove him from the vehicle. While he was being placed in the squad car, Garcia reportedly headbutted one officer in the head and a second officer in the jaw. If convicted, the charges carry a maximum sentence of 19 years in prison. A preliminary hearing is on the calendar next month.
