Beaver Dam Man Accused Of Assaulting Officer

(Beaver Dam) A Beaver Dam man is accused of injuring a police officer in a weekend incident. Eric Henson is charged with two felony counts of Battery To A Law Enforcement Officer and one felony count of Threat To A Law Enforcement Officer. Beaver Dam Police were attempting to take Henson into custody on Domestic Disorderly Conduct charges out of Poynette on Sunday when he allegedly leapt from his attic stairs punching at the officers while yelling “just kill me.” The 39-year-old then reportedly head-butted an officer and threatened him saying “you’re dead.” Later at the hospital, Henson told investigators that he remembers nothing of the incident and blacked out. Apologizing, he noted that he has Post Traumatic Stress Disorder and said he was in “fight or flight” mode. The officer sustained cuts and abrasions. If convicted, each charge carries a maximum six year prison sentence. Cash bond was set at $20-thousand dollars Monday and a competency exam was ordered.
