Beaver Dam Man Makes Initial Appearance On Felony Burglary Charges

(Beaver Dam) A Beaver Dam man charged with burglarizing a residential property has made his initial appearance in court. Raul Contreras is facing a felony count of Burglary as well as a misdemeanor charge of Theft of Movable Property and Possession of Cocaine.

Sheriff’s deputies were called to a property in the town of Beaver Dam after a residential alarm was tripped. Video surveillance captured someone running from the home, carrying something in their arms. Cameras also caught the suspect’s vehicle which was later spotted by Beaver Dam police.

The driver was allegedly identified as Contreras. He reportedly said he was at the residence but believed it to be his ex-wife’s home. Contreras allegedly admitted to taking several garments while he was at the property.

If convicted, the 31-year-old faces over 12-and-a-half years behind bars. A signature bond was set at $1,000 and a preliminary hearing is scheduled for April 21st.
