(Beaver Dam) Beaver Dam has launched a new website offering greater transparency. The city has partnered with CivicPlus, a provider of integrated technology solutions exclusively for local governments, to create a more mobile-responsive website.
The new platform and content management system will allow Beaver Dam to accomplish greater transparency and community engagement for residents as well as partners. City Administrator Nathan Thiel says the new site will be a great resource.
“Users will be able to access the frequently asked questions more easily…more readily…and hopefully limit the questions will need to come…sometimes people would use the website and get frustrated and just call in,” says Thiel. “So, we’re hoping to eliminate some of those frustrations and make it more user-friendly.”
Thiel says the site will also feature a prominent “how do I” section with direct links to online services as well as an improved staff directory. The platform also provides improved administrative efficiencies. This will allow staff to cater content overtime based on community need and interest.
The current web domain will remain intact, but the city is transitioning to a new dot-gov domain. The public is encouraged to explore the site and provide feedback. Feedback cam be submitted to communications@ci.beaverdam.wi.gov. For questions or comments, contact Nathan Thiel at nthiel@ci.beaverdam.wi.gov or call 920-887-4600 ext. 329.
