Beaver Dam Is In Need Of Crossing Guards

(Beaver Dam) Beaver Dam is in need of crossing guards. The Beaver Dam Police Department is accepting applications for part-time and substitute positions. Substitute guards are utilized by the city to supplement and back up the regular adult crossing guards. Police Sergeant Jeremiah Johnson says the city’s Police and Fire Commission recently increased wages for both positions. Crossing guards who work at assigned intersections now make over $16 an hour while substitute guards make over $15.

On a recent WBEV’s Community Comment, Johnson said not only does the job keep kids safe on their way to class but it also protects the community surrounding the schools. Johnson says one of the most important qualifiers for the job is being available in the mornings and afternoons. Applications can be picked up at the Beaver Dam Police Department at 123 Park Avenue for additional questions call 920-887-4612.
