(Beaver Dam) Organizers with the annual Beaver Dam Holiday Parade say there will be plenty of opportunities to enjoy the festivities this year. The theme is “Holiday Movies,” the same as last year’s parade which was cancelled due to inclement weather. As usual, there will be a coloring contest open to 4k students through adults with the winners taking part in the parade and being recognized at the after party. The parade will be held in the downtown area on Saturday, December 7 at 5:30pm. Event planner Tracy Propst says they will have a new activity this year. She says there will be a Cocoa Walk where hot chocolate and treats will be available at a variety of different businesses. Propst says people can stop by the Beaver Dam Chamber of Commerce at 127 South Spring Street for an open house. Mayor Becky Glewen will do a Christmas tree lighting prior to the parade. The open house gets underway at 2:30pm and Propst says the Chamber will keep their doors open during the holiday parade. Propst says handcrafted items will be for sale from 3pm to 8pm.
